Workshop ANIMATION!

Workshop ANIMATION! - How to make a stop motion animated film

Animation is fun and a great way of creating imaginary worlds where anything is possible. But, how can we go one step further and use this almost boundless technical potential to talk about some real-world issues you find important? This workshop will quickly cover all stages of making an animated film, from the idea and storyboard to animation and post-production, resulting in a collective animated film.

Andrijana Stojković, director and producer (All Inclusive Films, RS), analyzes projects from the director's angle (visual style, narrative flows, use of sound...). Jovana Nikolić, producer (Prababa production, RS), analyzes projects from the producer's angle (marketing, budgeting and financing, distribution strategies) and moderates the program. Sari Volanen, TV editor (New Cinema YLE, FI), approaches projects as Finland's public television service film program editor, with an active role in the European film market. The two best projects chosen by tutors will reward the director-producer teams with mentoring for professional development and project development.

VETERANS OF SERBIAN ANIMATION

BACKBONES OF ANIMATED FILM IN SERBIA

A multimedia project of collecting, researching, documenting, studying, evaluating, protecting and preserving archival materials of animated films of our greats and the presentation of their works. The author of the project is the founder of the Art and Visual Production studio, doctor of arts Snežana Vasilijana Trstenjak, film director and animator, member of ULUPUDUS and ASIFA, director of the MultiMost festival in Sremski Karlovci.

The project aims to build an interactive bridge between the new generation and the authors who laid the foundations of Serbian animation. The project consists of film screenings, an exhibition of works, panels on the position of animation then and now, and plans to popularize this art among young people.

At the 71st Martovski Festival, films and drawings will present: Aleksa Gajić, Branislav Cimeša, Gordana Goca Vitomirov, Goran Dujaković, Gordana Petković, Dragan Ristić, Dejan Dabić, Zoran Stefanović, Zorana Keser, Zoran Tucić, Ivan Pejkić, Mirjana Mićanović Tičerić, Milan Marić, Mirela Srebrić, Miroljub Milutinović - Brada, Nedeljko Ubović, Rastko Ćirić, Stevica Živkov and Snežana Trstenjak.

Drawings from movies, models for coloring, and ways to plan the frames of characters in an animated film will showcase the experience of the entire process of creating an animated work.

The name of this year's exhibition is a word that has become familiar in creating characters for an animated film, namely: "CHARACTERS". Before every animation and project, it is necessary to work out the CHARACTERS - the primary and secondary characters, the bearers of the idea of the film itself. So we took a few steps back to the present, in addition to the films, the filmmaker's signature styles through creating characters for the film. The idea is that young people who study film and animation in the future can more easily connect and identify with the work but also with the characters of the artists who dedicated their lives to working on animated films and created the conditions for this profession to become one of the most profitable vocations in Serbia today, woven into at all times of life. Art, marketing, medicine, and gaming industries, but with everyday short instructions and presentations, rely heavily on animation.
