NATIONAL PANORAMA

Film selection: Documentary Film and Television Forms Festival Grafest

Founded in 2011 to present contemporary Serbian and world productions to the audience in Kosovo and Metohija and stimulate local television producers to shape contemporary Kosovo-Metohija reality in a similar way. The Festival aims to encourage creative documentary production, directly influence local auteurs and production media houses, and create a film audience through quality screenings of carefully selected films. The Grafest Festival is a measure of the auteurs' creativity, testimony, professionalism, learning, and personal progress. Without them, the image, feeling, time, atmosphere, conflicts, and life between the divided worlds of Kosovo and Metohija would remain largely empty and incomplete.

Directed by: Galeb Nikačević Hasci-Jare

In late November 2023, the Belgrade Urban Running Team from Serbia participated in The Speed Project, a 500 km relay race in Atacama, Chile, the driest desert in the world, deep in the Andes. They reached the finish line in less than 35 hours, won first place, and broke the record for this harsh course. That area is known as the "Road to the End of the World" (Ruta del fin del mundo) and is the southernmost point of Latin America. In addition to the altitude of up to 3400 m, it is specific by temperature differences of over 30 degrees during the day, winds, sand and dust. The Agelast Production team followed them in this, physically and mentally, the biggest challenge so far – for the runners and the production itself. The result is this film.

SERBIAN ANIMATED FILM 6 (2000–2006)

Editors-in-Chief, film selection Božidar Zečević, Rastko Ćirić

Edition supervisor Nenad Popović

After the dark decade of the nineties in Serbia, the end of the year 2000 was marked by a major political upheaval and the change of political concept. With the sudden death of Veljko Bikić, Serbian animation lost the ambitious Veljko Bikić Studio. The Dunav Film continues with the Dunav Film School that would last until 2006 – the year when this film company went out of business.

This very edition covers the 2000–2006 period, presenting the “golden age” of the Dunav Film School, the continuation of opuses of veterans of Serbian animation, the first successful works from the Faculty of Applied Arts, and the open door for the first longer animated films in Serbia.
